FAQS

Do I need a script from my physician?
As licensed therapists in the State of Pennsylvania we must adhere to certain regulations that govern the profession of physical therapy. The Direct Access Law gives patients the option to seek physical therapy treatment for up to one month with out a prescription from their physician.
How long will my appointment be?
Your initial evaluation will usually be longer than subsequent visits because your physical therapist will assess your condition and gather information from you regarding your condition, injury or pain. You may be here for approximately and hour and fifteen minutes. Subsequent visits can run as long as an hour.
How many times will I need to come for physical therapy?
If you are a direct access patient, after your initial evaluation your therapist will determine how often you will need to come for therapy. Often times if given a script by your physician, they may request that you come to physical therapy 2-3 times per week for a number of weeks, this will also be discussed with you and can change after your initial evaluation with the physical therapist. The time you need to come will vary on your diagnosis. We believe that each patient and diagnosis is unique and your recovery will depend on your response to the care given and the amount of time you are able to dedicate to your recovery. Your therapy will decrease over time as you progress.
Will I see the same Physical Therapist?
Yes, each patient is scheduled with the same therapist. At times you may be scheduled with another therapist if your therapist is out sick or on vacation. You will only be scheduled with another therapist once you have been made aware that your therapist is not available and it has been approved by you.
What should I wear?
Come dressed in comfortable clothing that provides good freedom of movement along with nonskid shoes/sneakers for exercise. If you forget your clothing, no worries we have gym shorts for your to borrow. We also have roomy bathrooms inside our facility wear you can change if you are coming from work.
What should I do if I can not make my appointment?
We ask that you call the office at least 24 hours in advance to cancel and reschedule your appointment. We understand that emergencies come up and sometimes you may not be able to give 24 hours notice.
